The Voidbound Cult

Those that worship and serve the shadow demons bring despair to the inhabitants of The Dream. Their overall goal is make The Dreamer give up on The Serpent and Shadows War. The Voidbound Cult is a loosely organized group of cultists devoted to Zalthor, The Demonlord. They are located on Akir and have spread through both continents. Many of their vile rituals require the use of Dragon Blood.

Until recently, all members of the cult were either humans or dwarves. Elves have long abhorred the use of Magic Mirrors after The Nightspawn Invasion. For the Elves, anything Demonic is taboo. The very unexpected recruitment of a selfish, dishonest and angry Elf woman, Vareena, has changed Zalthor's plans.

Cultists who take The Final Vow and complete The Voidbond Ritual, become Warlocks. They are gifted with additional blood sorcery and Shadowvision. They lose freewill in the process and are unable to disobey their demonlord master. Vareena, The Warlock, is the most recent cultist to take The Final Vow.

The Old City under Copperhill

A small sect has begun exploring the ruins of The Old City under Copperhill in search of a magical artifact of power. The cult has kept a presence in the ruins ever since using it as a base of operations in The Great Valley during The Mirrorshade Insurrection.

Puddlefoot, The Treasure Hunter, has stumbled upon the cultists. He successfully pilfered a few items and maps from them. Spying on the cult has revealed useful information that The Oracle and Marcus, The Wizard, hope to utilize as they form a plan to rescue the prisoners at The Demonheart Vault.

The Last Goblin's Prison

Vrrosh is the only Goblin to survive the aftermath of The Nightspawn Incursion. The Demonheart Vault is a prison built by The Voidbound Cult, hidden under the glaciers of Icewraith Expanse. Vrrosh rules over the prison and serves Zalthor loyally. He has several Magic Mirrors that allow for direct visual communication with the demonlord.

The scariest thing is that the cultists lose all free will. I kind of feel sorry for them, even though they kind of did it by choice.

The Deal is never worth The Final Vow. Folks who trust demons have bad Karma for sure.

I now feel deeply sorry for Vareena, for her names remind me of previous article I read here and this one proves all hope is gone...

You're so kind-hearted! I don't have too much sympathy for her. Her selfish desires almost destroyed the entire world. She's pretty irredeemable. If she had any regrets or accepted responsibility for her mistakes, maybe she could learn and grow into a better person. I don't think that's going to happen though. :/
