Arisu

This stomach soothing medicine was the first major step towards the cure for Wicked Stomach. On its own Arisu only has mild stomach calming properties but when combined with other ingredients it forms the cure for Wicked Stomach or serves as treatment for other nausea enduing diseases. Many of those that helped to discover this great cure, including those that died for it, have sadly been forgotten.

Discovery

The herbalist Arisu was just one of the many specialists from the Jlosa Hospital who was searching for a treatment for Wicked Stomach. She and her colleges worked relentlessly and Arisu would often be the first to arrive and the last to leave. This, and her cheerful and optimistic demeanor caused Arisu to be the most prominent face of the project. When the substance that would be known as Arisu was discovered, it was named after her and she ended up receiving most of the credit, something many of her colleges are still upset about. Many in the hospital think that Arisu did not do enough to try to prevent other's accomplishments from being forgotten.

Arisu was discovered through an arduous testing process involving many patients with Wicked Stomach that has never been revealed to the public. In several test versions of the medication, the intended cure caused fevers, blurred vision, drowsiness, and often hastened the patients' death. In some cases the test medicines caused patients to even vomit up fluids , bringing about their death.

Although it was discovered by a group of people, Arisu received most of the credit and fame. Arisu has become a popular baby name in Duvi and she is regarded by some Duvins to be blessed by Kerali . Much to Arisu's colleagues dismay, the deity has not denied these claims, although Kerali has also not confirmed them either.

Utility

Besides serving as the base for the Wicked Stomach cure, Arisu is used as a treatment for all sorts of nausea. It has been proven to be an effective treatment for other diseases that cause nausea, lessening the amount of discomfort and sometimes vomiting that a sick person experiences. In the south, where Arisu is much more abundant, as it's much cheaper to produce, Arisu is used to treat as diverse causes of nausea and vomiting as seasickness, pregnancy, food poisoning, intense pain, and more.
