The Claw

The Claw is the single most defining piece of architecture in Gix Aria, and possibly all of the Dragon lands. It is the only intact building from the age of The Draconic Empire, and the suspected base of the last demi-deity dragon, Naerdras.

Purpose / Function

The original purpose of the Claw is unknown. Now, it serves as a base for Naerdras' cult within Gix Aria, a seat of government, and as the permanent reminder that this city belongs to Naerdras', the last great dragon. The Claw strikes an intimidating figure, towering far above the other buildings in the city. It's massive, iconic  silhouette can be seen for miles in every direction, and the distinctive Dragon Stone walls are said to reflect the moonlight out over the plains.

Alterations

There are a few small 'flaws' on the claw, where dragon blessed crafted dragon stone or even lesser stones have been used to repair it over the centuries. Additionally, alterations have been made in certain parts of the building to make it more agreeable to its dragon blessed inhabitants.

Defenses

The Claw has a number of defenses in place to defend the cultists and Naerdras, the most formidable being no one actually knows if Naerdras lives there. The dragon has been seen hunting regularly in the area of Gix Aria, so it is safely assumed that she is alive, healthy, and likely dwelling somewhere in the city. No one has seen her come back to roost at the Claw, or at least seen and survived. However, it is suspected that there are many secret entrances to the tower that she could use to enter and exit discreetly.
Therefore, groups looking to eliminate Naerdras are cautious to risk a costly assault on a dragonless tower, and those who only wish to target her cultists or the tower's contents are wary they may encounter an unexpected dragon.
There is a standing guard of roughly 300 Naerdras cultists in the tower, and many defenses have been built into the tower to aid in its defense.
