Goblins

Content Warning: mild body horror

Oooh! Shiny!
— a goblin before ripping someone's eyes out
Goblins are fei creatures known for having a penchant for collecting anything and everything they find interesting or pretty. They have a particular love of shiny objects. They graft their collections onto their body so that their collections become a part of them. This serves as more than just an aesthetic purpose as goblins gain power and energy from the items attached to them in addition to whatever other benefits the items may provide like the spells stored in a magic ring. Their collections are not limited to things they find as they are prone to steal or take by force objects they like from anyone if they think they can get away with it. They also will often take parts of living creatures like eyes, hair, mouths, and teeth.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Goblins are generally humanoid shaped. They fairly slender aside from particularly bulky pieces of their collections. Like most fei this slenderness is deceptive though as they are actually quite strong. They tend to have prominent cheek, collar, and hip bones. Their bodies are made out of either metal or gemstones, their hair is fine metallic wire, and their eyes are liquid metal or gemstone orbs. Depending on how old or powerful a goblin is, it can have only a few objects jutting out of its skin to having barely any skin visible. Goblin collections can include but are not limited to: feathers, jewelry, glass, gemstones, cloth, pottery, armour, and pieces of other creatures.

Growth Rate & Stages

A goblin's growth is measured in the size of its collection. The collection grants the goblin energy which increases its physical abilities and can also manifest in magic related to the items in its collection. Objects that were once part of a creature can even give the goblin some of that creature's skills and abilities.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The true fei generally use goblins as specialized troops, guards, and more specialized servants. Some true fei give their goblins specific trinkets so that they can better fulfill a specific purpose. Most powerful goblins know either to hide or downplay their power and to not collect so much that they become so powerful as to threaten the true fei. Still sometimes the lure of adding to the collection or the desire to be more than a servant become too much. Those goblins are magically absorbed by the true fei--either their master or one of the two sovereigns.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Goblins are mostly found in Feiri and are found serving both courts . They can be summoned to the mortal realm especially the less powerful of them but this is still rather rare.

Average Intelligence

Goblins have the same range of intelligence as humanoids

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Most goblins have the five senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. Those that have large collections also start to develop a sense for magical auras. Goblins often have heightened sense as a result of stealing sensory organs from other creatures and sneaking up on or past one is quite difficult.
