Martha is a Lofi-Skyfolk woman who lives two lives, as a beekeeper at her home on lofi homeworld and as a chef and mechanic aboard The Burning Queen on the Sea of Ondine. She was born to her 2 mothers as a result of Reproduction Study B710-A, a Soliil study into reproduction aids.

Martha is not exactly known for having a coherent fashion sense, often picking out clothing at random each day. Denim overalls and sweaters are a particular favourite of her's, most of her outfits will include at least one of these. She wears large round-rimmed glasses with a metallic purple frame.
Specialized Equipment
Her Soliil-made prosthetic arm is the most advanced piece of technology aboard the Burning Queen, Martha saved for her entire first season after they switched from the postal service to island mining before she could afford it. The arm can contort to positions impossible for a human, can be programmed with preset motions and comes with modular parts for extra customisation. This flexibility is very helpful in both her engineering and cooking work.

Martha Oriole Rose Emberwood Honey-Dekken was born in the unified calendar year of 144 to her mothers: Buddleja Dekken-Honey and Teasel Honey-Dekken, who partook in the Reproduction Study B710-A, one of an incredibly small number of Soliil experiments that have included the outside worlds. Because of these circumstances around her birth, she is one of a tiny number of non-Soliil to be allowed access to Solis, where she has to return twice a year for a health checkup and can access their healthcare.
She grew up on the south coast of Home, learning her mothers' trades in beekeeping, textiles and cooking and learning mechanics and engineering on her own. At age 15, she had gathered the parts for and built a solar-charging Prop-glider and decided to travel, eventually settling in Dropmount Isle in the Sea of Ondine a few months later, where she would meet Katie May who had also recently moved there.
While she flitted between odd jobs to make enough money to get by, she eventually settled into a position working in the warehouse of a local dock. While at the warehouse, she and Katie began dating. She enjoyed the job, finding satisfaction in organising shipments and had access to a forklift, but eventually had to leave after she lost her arm in an accident. Due to her connections to the Soliil, she was very quickly taken from the local hospital to one on the Soliil homeworld where she was given her custom-made prosthetic arm. After some time off for recovery and getting used to her new arm, she returned to the warehouse, but was made to switch to a role within the offices as her manager didn't want to risk more accidents.
She didn't find much enjoyment in the day-to-day of her office job, but lacked the motivation to find a permanent replacement so remained there for a few years after. Eventually, Maya East visited their island to inform the locals that her mother has dissolved the Seafolk Monarchy. As Maya had been travelling for a whole day, operating her boat entirely by herself despite it needing a 2 person crew to operate safely, she anchored in the dock to rest, Martha and Katie approached her to offer their help in return for dropping them off at another island. Maya accepted and the pair joined her crew.
While they'd only planned to help for a single voyage, Martha and Katie stayed aboard and became permanent members of the crew.

Martha originally worked in the warehouse of a dock on Dropmount Isle, before moving into the offices after losing her arm in an accident. She eventually ended up leaving and joining Maya East's crew aboard The Burning Queen along with her partner, Katie May. She works aboard the ship as both the resident cook and mechanic, switching as needed.

Martha has a soft and kind voice, almost always speaking calmly, even if she's excited or stressed. Her voice has a fairly strong accent but she purposely paces her speech so people can follow along. Her soft speech and caring demeanour often lead people to be surprised by her surprisingly dirty sense of humour, strong opinions and openness about "intimate" topics.
