Vulreach
Vulreach is one of the four Towers present in the Infinity Petal, which facilitates the System function of Delete. Back on Norn, it is the delta version of a Draemyrian trauma inhibitor designed to pair with the central intelligence inside Azkhrumdar.
Purpose / Function
As a Tower, it is Vulreach's duty to enact the Delete operation whenever Bast becomes too traumatized to process the enormity of the Entwined Infinities, or when Crow and their Anticipations come too close to taking over the System. The myth of End Day naturally manifested around this effect, which sees the majority of an Iteration undone in order to avoid side effects, often leaving reality in the last stable cache of Bast's memory — the creation of the First World.
While at one point vacant when not being used for this purpose, it was later occupied by the Walker Calamity, where it was then repurposed to also serve as a extradimensional prison and research facility.
Alterations
While the software countermeasures installed by Valka and her research team still hold, they have been without proper maintenance for thousands of Iterations, and thus both the System and Calamity have made alterations to upkeep them over the years. Whereas ROOT stacked its own countermeasures on top of its creator's, Calamity relied mostly on occult rituals and arcane protections, heavily favoring the elemental magic he and his family developed over their long lives.
This has made Vulreach one of the most well-defended Towers, with no critical breach recorded in its history. Vulreach also contains an extensive research and development facility spanning several floors, which gets its research subjects from the seemingly infinite dimensional prison that makes up the Tower's lower levels.
Defenses
Besides only being accessible through the Sideways Steps or one of Calamity's gateways, Vulreach also boasts a multi-layered magical barrier and modern security systems. Its infamous front door is the only way in or out of the Tower, designed by Calamity such that even he would be subject to its demands, and requiring any group attempting entry to give up items and companions of value — a ritual in honor of the mighty function of Delete.
The Admin of Vulreach also has access to its many helper functions and surveillance tools, as well as its extensive catalogue of materials and how they may be destroyed. Once End Day begins, the Admin can choose to Delete nearly anything outside of the central control chamber at the top of the tower — including other occupants — making storming the building a difficult endeavor.
