Reborn
While some colonist on the Wolf worlds have begun identifying themselves as Hellions and a few oddball but previously harmless lunatics volunteer for the process, the true Hellions were criminals. More than just criminals, the true Hellions are the worst and most violent. In most human societies in history, they'd have been candidates for the death penalty or even summary execution. They were cannibals, terrorists, murderers, serial killers; the worst that humanity can produce. The Marshall spends her recruiting budget buying these dregs from the Sol System and her fellow Technocrats. They are subjected to behavioral conditioning, technological programming, ghost editing, genetic cleansing, nanite baths, and even age old brainwashing and propaganda. It doesn't really matter what they started with, when they come out of it, they are Hellions. Hellions have been trained to be courageous, even foolhardy at times. They are ironically difficult to influence, and they are honed mentally and physically for combat. They are often seen as blunt instruments, and they tend towards the more kinetic and dangerous jobs once they're free of their contracts, assuming that they don't simply re-up.Naming Traditions
Other names
While Hellions may or may not retain their names from their old lives, by tradition they give themselves an "Other Name." This name is nearly always violent. Examples include Shovel, Missile, Knife, Laser, Stabby, Graser etc. If they name themselves for a weapon, it's almost always the first weapon with which they got a confirmed kill. Thressa "Dildo" Serese and Merton "Thumbs" Mallonie manage to be both legends AND conversation starters.
A special addition to this is -bane. A Hellion earns the name after confirming ten kills of one type. Examples include Rigelbane, Demonbane, Corpobane, Terrorbane, Tankbane, etc. Finch "Traitorbane" Sith took fourteen Hellfire Cabal prisoner and executed them one by one with a shovel when his position fell under counterattack, and Aless "Starbane" Talaski is a famous historical starfighter ace.

Shared customary codes and values
Hellions value loyalty more than just about anything. If there is a close second, it's challenges that can be overcome with aggression.
Common Dress code
Hellions tend to wear reinforced clothing whatever the occasion, even to the point of excess. Centaurians may laugh at a Hellion who is sweating under the heat of three suns, but it's the Hellion that laughs when the stabbing starts.

Hellion Architecture is usually brutalist in style with an eye towards defense.
Foods & Cuisine
Most Wolfguard eat high-nutrion, high calorie meals as fast as they can and move on. A nutrition brick eaten one bite per day saves a lot of time for fighting, working, relaxing, or carousing. That being said, Hellion Moonshine is legendary.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
A Hellion goes through a month of genetic and physical operations, a week of intense conditioning, and then three weeks in a sick bay in a medically induced coma to recover. The first words they hear on waking are a recorded speech by Marshall Immozene Gegentot
Funerary and Memorial customs
Hellions who die want to be buried in place, preferably in a verfical grave where they are interred standing up in their full arms and armor. This is sometimes called the Long Post. Hellions don't talk about their fallen as if they're gone; when asked they will simply say that they're Posted. IE: "Shovel Harley is Posted on Eizhen Field." Additionally, Hellions that fall in the middle of a battle rarely want to be done, and are the most likely ethnicity of all to submit to the Necrotube.

Hellions favor athleticism and stamina to symmetry or coloration.
Courtship Ideals
While in the Wolfguard, both men and women are kept on reproductive suppressants, keeping them sterile. After their contract, they often go one of three ways: They either seek out and start a family with a spouse that they focus their fanatical loyalty on and make dozens of children with, they might remain sterile and simply live for their work, or they might find a partner in every port and spread their seed far and wide. Rarely do they go halfway.
