Timmy Technocrat, oh so bright,
Went to Olympus Mons, a wondrous sight.

Who are Technocrats?

Technocrats are highly skilled experts who serve as the backbone of the Pan-Solar Consortium government. They are full- or part-time specialists in various fields, accredited and listed in a database with their qualifications. Technocrats are responsible for administering and managing different aspects of society, from taxation and resource extraction to planetary defense and law enforcement.

Roles and Responsibilities

Technocrats work in various fields, applying their expertise to ensure the smooth functioning of society. For instance, accounting experts handle taxation, while geologists, naturalists, safety analysts, and labor-sociologists develop and enforce regulations on resource extraction. Retired military and police officers plan and manage planetary defense and law enforcement. These experts are dedicated to improving their skills and expanding their knowledge to better serve the Consortium. Technocrats at work are organized into committees and given a budget to solve problems and increase efficiency.

Societal Status

In the Pan-Solar Consortium, technocrats are revered as virtuous, skilled, and talented individuals who have proven themselves through their expertise and dedication. Society has been engineered to hold them in high esteem, and citizens are encouraged to aspire to become technocrats themselves.
