Areso-Terstener
The Areso-Tersteners are the descendants of the Upper Lordanians that came to Tersten beginning with the Pinascimate Penal Authority. The Aresians typically held positions of authority, or came to the planet as free citizens to aid the Republic in developing the world. The Dowerbridge Family are one such family, who came to the planet in the early days of the Penal Authority and became a powerful landowning family. The scale at which Aresians arrived on the planet increased during the reign of the People's Republic of Lordania, who occupied the planet and controlled its puppet government, the Tersten State. Following the collapse of the People's Republic, the influx of Aresians has stopped, and many on the planet have found themselves isolated, and forced to adapt to Terstener ways.
Often seen as haughty and arrogant, the Aresians come from a long history of upper-class dominance. They are highly disliked due to their links to both the Penal Authority, and the People's Republic. Many Areso-Tersteners suffered under the Unitarians, but not to the same extent as other groups. They have many links off-world, and are typically considered to be wealthier than most, a stereotype that affects even the poorest Areso-Terstener.
The largest Areso-Terstener nation is the Aresian Recluse, located within the greater Federal Province of Mediolama.
Populations
The largest population of Areso-Tersteners live around Little Terra, in the Huángjīn Floodplain, north-east of The Republic of the Humble Servants of God. This land is mostly swamps and mangroves, with the city of Little Terra being elevated above the waters. Little Terra has become the cultural capital of the Areso-Tersteners. There is a large population of Areso-Tersteners in the southern region of Duliajan, in Yukela. The city of Newton has long been a hotbed of Aresian activity on Tersten, being the site of a Unitarian barracks during the occupation. In the early years of the Interregnum, an Areso-Terstener named William 'Bastard Billy' Rivers led a reactionary pro-Unitarian movement in the region, taking control of the island of Buckingham and declaring it independent. His rebellion was put down in 47 by the Tersten Army, whose heavy-handed suppression tactics earned them much criticism, and resentment from the local population.Major organizations
The Areso-Terstners were the previously dominant culture of Tersten, with high positions in the Pinascimate Penal Authority and the People's Republic of Lordania.
