Interregnum

The Interregnum, sometimes also referred to as Tersten's Golden Age, was a period of history lasting 9 years, starting in 45 and ending 53PC. The collapse of the People's Republic of Lordania meant that for the first time in over a hundred years, there was no interstellar government tying the Lordanian Cluster together. In its wake, every single planet was considered independent, left to their own affairs and struggling with the consequences of the Great Revolution.
On Tersten, this period saw the reformation of the Tersten Government-in-Exile into the Republic of Tersten, and the subsequent rise of various nations cross the planet, with most swearing loyalty to the Republic of Tersten to handle external affairs.
The Interregnum officially ended with the founding of the Second Lordanian Republic and the Confederate Systems of Lordania, the dividing of the Lordanian Cluster into two halves. It saw the arrival of the United Nations of Sol, and the slow tightening of their control, especially over planets such as Lordania and Yuklid.
The Interregnum on Tersten saw the rise and fall of states, such as the Imperium Valianum. It was a period of anarchistic freedom and legendary outlaws, as the Tersten Army attempted to wrestle back control of the planet from bandits and warlords.
