Level 3: Second Floor
No fewer than six ballistae menace the grounds outside of the tower from this vantage. Multiple crossbows are also stationed at regular intervals, with a fair supply of ammunition on hand. There are bunk beds at eleven o'clock, another bunk bed array at seven o'clock, and the commander of the guards' cot at two(ish) o'clock.

Design
This room is set up very much like a military barracks.
Entries
Only the hatch in the floor, locked from below, and the hatch in the ceiling, locked from this side.
Sensory & Appearance
It looks and smells a lot like a military barracks unit.
Denizens
Half a dozen elite guards from the Cotnor sniper Corps. These gentlemen are also fierce swordfighters and in-close combatants.
Contents & Furnishings
Three sturdy square tables; a fancy round table. Eight heavy crossbows. Six ballistae. A very expensive carpet! Bunk beds and a more comfortable cot allow for ease of sleep.
Valuables
The guards each carry a Longsword +2, Chain Maille +2, and Shields of Spell Deflection. They each carry a pouch containing twenty, one-Stilton Ounce gold trade bars. An Investigation check of nineteen or higher will reveal the presence of a platinum piece that has been placed under the skin of the backs of their necks. These pieces contain the stamped visage of Corrine Cotnor on the face, and a feasting raven on the reverse. These coins are the symbol of their devotion to Ravelous Nil, inserted via a slit in the skin made by a "friend" with a ritual bone knife. The cultists can be tracked and communicated with via these enchanted coins, and each coin can turn as white-hot as a glede in an instant, or cold. It can vibrate, and transmit voice messages from their handlers. Or various pitched noises, at various decibel levels. It is a devious and nefarious device.
