Fulmand Wall

Rising seventy feet out of the ground, the Fulmand Wall is a massive barricade stretching east to west across the entirety of The City of the Lights. Made of what appears to be a gray metal of some sort, it never rusts or changes. It has survived everything from civil wars to an asteroid strike, and is a legendary aspect of life on the plateau.

Over the eons, those north of the Fulmond Wall laid claim to it as their own, and fortified it with forts and towers that are completely unnecessary, and will fall down long before the impervious wall. Many scholars speculate that is is an actual geological feature of the planet; some rare metal, or perhaps a type of clay that hardened through an as yet unknown planetary process.

Purpose / Function

Nobody knows why it was built, who built it, or indeed what is is built out of.

Alterations

Noone has been able to modify the wall. Many have tried, but there is no tool or magic that has been able to change the shape or structure of the wall. Some people have built right up against it, but the northern powers-that-be disallow citizens to do so, as they have built defensive bastions and barracks up against it, themselves.

Architecture

It is perfectly smooth, unpitted, and unblemished, despite centuries of attempts at graffiti. No one has been able to demolish any part of it, and no study has ever explained its existence satisfactorily.

There are arched openings in the wall every few miles, which The Grey Council defends with heavily armored knights they call the Boreal Division.

Defenses

As far as anyone, ever, has been able to tell, the wall is impervious to any force on Tellus.

History

The Fulmand wall predates any currently known civilization.

Tourism

People have made pilgrimages to the south side of the wall, although some few have tried to breach the archways to get to the north. Without the proper identification, people do not travel through the arches of the Fulmand Wall...in, or out.
