Rolfe Tower Building / Landmark in Tellus | World Anvil

Rolfe Tower

The central tower in the Ravenwood, this masterwork of masonry rises three hundred feet into the sky, and is two hundred feet across at its base. It houses the entire nation of Rolfe, which is (for all intents and purposes) the government of the Ravenwood area. It is a complex political web of treaties, concessions, executive orders, and authoritarian threats, but it all seems to work. Mostly, it has been pointed out, because no one is allowed to complain, on account of all the authoritarianism.

Purpose / Function

It is the main, and biggest, government building, situated centrally in Ravenwood and kept isolated from the rest of the world. It is also the central location of the expansive prison levels below ground.

Alterations

There have been no alterations made since construction was finished.

Architecture

Its base is a twoo hundred foot diameter circle, and built of the dark gray stobe prevalent in the area. It is built atop the site of its own mine, leaving convenient basements and tunnels underneath it for various government needs.

Defenses

The tower is simply bristling with ballistae, and crossbowmen abound. In addition, there are musketeers, and at least nineteen broadside cannon. The magical defenses that bolster all of this are subtle and craftily woven dweomers.

History

Finished circa 3875NG, Count Rolfe Rodrigo Schartenheiney the IV quickly got it up and running to its fullest potential.

Tourism

No one but citizens of Rolfe are allowed within the structure.   Or prisoners.
