Society of the Sacred Shadow - Wargun Coven
The fact that there are those in Wargun that worship the Velvet Lady is no secret. She has a several shrines and even a temple in the city that is generally tolerant about worship. Whether or not the Society operates within its walls is a matter that neither religious officials nor members of the ruling clan will admit. There are those that swear they have seen the gatherings, however, of hooded men and women chanting in a circle on Cemetery Hill under the light of Mora and Verdun. Others claim to have witnessed these gatherings devolve into reckless orgies or worse, blood sacrifices. Still, whether it is the rumors that widow Tessa Darin participates in such rites or simple discretion by the coven, commoners are merely warry of the society. Of course, if the same ritual murders that occurred in Gartcha happened in Wargun, perhaps it would be a different matter.
