Sameer the Beardless
Executive Officer, Eldorian Legion, 3rd Expeditionary Force
With huge, knotted tufts of red hair that protrude from beneath his gleaming Mithril helmet and contrast starkly with the bone white walrus tusks that extrude from either side of it, one might think that Sameer could grow a fine, Khadric beard. Two groups of Legionnaires have made that mistake; one group has wisely voiced their thoughts to comrades who's looks of horror silenced them before they ended up like the other group - confined to the infirmary to mend broken bones. Its true that no shame caused Sameer to shave his beard, but his lack of ability to grow one made his fellow Khadra suspicious of him, nonetheless, and he has always felt more at home with other races. After meeting Colonel Starrin, though, he found a true home in the 3rd Expeditionary Force. He quickly rose through the ranks and with mighty bellow to convey orders and mightier warhammer to ensure that they were carried out, he inevitably become the Colonel's executive officer and closest friend.
Like most Khadra, he has a dry sense of humor and the adventures he has shared exploring the Frozen Wastes with the Legion have only sharpened his wit. He is quick to remind the men and women of his legion of the levity in any situation, accentuating the most miniscule positive elements of their luck. Veterans know many of his stories about times when it was worse or how fortunate they were to only be outnumbered three-to-one by heart often goad the old Khadra into telling them, pushing for the most outlandish tales in front of new recruits.
Red hair and a century of lines on his muddy brown face have not stained the optimism of the 3rd Expeditionary Forces executive officer. Even his inability to grow a beard - as long as it is not discussed - can't dampen his spirits as he reminds his soldiers how much better they have it than the time he was surrounded by...
