Merdenkali Shal'Ratzen

Founder of the Church of Nosferian

Originally from a lower house, Merdenkali meandered from craft to craft aimlessly during the days when the Elynthi and Soulmeliti lived peacefully in Soulmeliti Forests. Once Meltorythe Styvalhyme declared war on the Elynthi, however, Merdenkali's skill in rhetoric aided his meteoric rise within the Elynthi society. Faced with an unwinnable war, the walls of Naz'Asketon crumbling and his people near extinction, he communed with the god Nosferian, and was named both religious and political leader.

Merdenkali led a counter attack that embroiled all of the Forests and beyond into war. Only the power of the wandering, soon to be god Legerdemain was able to finally force his defeat. Comunning once again with Nosferian, Merdenkali summoned Demons from the underworld to free his people. Retreating across the Darien Plain, he was killed by Ag'ralo Moeynshiem; an act that ensured the schism between the Elynthi and Soulmeliti would last for all eternity.
