Nosferian appeals to Jez'bali'dahn for sympathy and is allowed to teach Merdenkali magic in trance. Merdenkali organizes a prison break, destroying Naz'Asketon in the process. Verazsuuth, still watching, identifies him as "The Blackened One Who Stands Outside." Verazsuuth attempts to initiate peace. Merdenkali summons one of Nosferian's immortal servants and begins the Elynthi tradition of summoning demons.
