Blacksmith's Shop
With a triangular shaped sign out front in Azermathian, Soulmeliti, and with a simple picture of a hammer and anvil, this two story building has stood in in Gryphon's Crossing for over half a century. The sign itself looks a bit funny, almost like a triangle pointing downward, the wordy Azermathian at the top, three elegant Soulmeliti characters in the middle, and the pictograph at the bottom. Despite its strange shape, everyone who sees the sign knows exactly what to expect from the shop, though that likely comes more from its proprietor's reputation than the sign.
With a first floor made of stones, carefully set like an intricate puzzle, clearly held together without any mortar, and a lacquered wood second story that always looks like it was painted yesterday, the smithy is sturdy, simple, and elegant. Three rooms occupy the first floor - the shop in front, storage in the middle, and a working forge in the back. The second story, which is smaller, above only thes hop and storage area, serves as the proprietor's home.
Filled mostly with farming implements and household goods, the shop also has a smattering of weapons and armor commonly ordered by the Republican Army. Perfectly centered on the back wall, above a square, blue lacquered desk, is an eccentric looking, slightly curved hand-and-a-half sword with a squared tip. It shines in the sunlight streaming in from the window - glittering far beyond what you would expect form polished steel.
