Drakshal Accords

It took the Soulmeliti less than a generation, slightly more than two centuries, to establish a formal treaty of mutual cooperation with the Kingdom of Galencia. Never before had the Soulmeliti Forests agreed to any sort of political or diplomatic arrangement with a foreign power without first going to war with them. Betriem Styvalhyme, however, so so amazed by the industriousness with which Human worked to bring prosperity to their small community on Lake Galen. In the blink of a Soulmeliti eye, they had founded a Kingdom and despite their pitifully short lives, seemed eternally optimistic about the future.

For his part, King Raliph Markudar VI saw the potential of closer relations with the Forests. Soulmleiti science and philosophy had led to advancements architecture, the the addition of running water in the Castle Malta and been long been a foundation in Galencian political theory. Continuing this relationship could only improve the lives of his people, even if the real motive behind the Soulmelit's desire the treaty had more to do with Galencia's new found trading partner, the Underground Kingdom of the Children of Kharl than the "awe inspiring optimism" that Styvalhyme had said it was.

Regardless of their reasons, the Soulmeliti remained true to the treaty, giving Galencians free passage through the Soulmeliti Forests, sending tutors to Geyla, and maintaining strong economic ties. For Galencia's part, they paid heavily during the Great War, their soldiers fighting alongside the Soulmeliti from the earliest outset of war. The recent policies of isolationism may have strained relations between the two nations. Even so, during the depths of the Soulmleiti withdrawal, merchants from Geyla and New Solarin would meet in Dalencroft to exchange news, goods and sometimes entire wagons. The Soulmeliti embassy in Geyla has also issued the most Writ of Passage since the Forests reopened - granting them to Galencians and Khadra alike.
