Weaver's Guild

After new geysers erupted from the ground and flooded Tarantellia with magic, certain creatures and items absorbed the energy and transformed. Living entities could expend the energy. The infused items, more commonly known as artifacts, could only grow in power.   Many artifact acquisition organizations formed and disbanded over the years. While their motivations varied, their goals were often aligned. Each creating expedition teams to hunt down these artifacts. While it'd be simple to say most disbanded from a lack of funding; however, it'd be more honest to say that searching for these artifacts is dangerous and fighting over magically unstable resources is deadly.   The Weaver's Guild is one of few organizations to consistently maintain control over the acquisition market. Their Research Department tests and transforms the chaotic artifacts into magic items albiet sometimes questionably wieldable. As their sponsors remain anonymous, it's hard to say whether they maintain power through ruthlessness or cunning, the creation of useful artifacts, or deep pockets.

Competition

Many such organizations came and went depending on funding and difficulty. However, two organizations succeeded where others failed: the Den of Papyrus and the Weaver's Guild.   Their malaligned goals cause both organizations to be at odds with one another. While the Den of Papyrus seeks to neutralize artifacts for the safety of the Claw Continent, the Weaver's Guild would rather utilize these artifacts of power.   Despite their constant war for artifacts, both organizations wear variants of Acquisitionist Attire and utilize Web Pens as part of their adventuring gear.

Locations

While the Den of Papyrus has many locations throughout the Claw Continent, the Weaver's Guild only has one pubically known and accessible location: Misty Hollow.   As the face of their organization, Misty Hollow operates as a religious town with a massive library, museum, and herbal gardens. However, there are multiple testing sites on the outskirts of the region. In these locations, the Weaver's test and create magical artifacts.   Founded at the first bifurcation of the Azuris Path, Misty Hollow provides the Weaver's Guild access to the Tarrenbrook Trade Route. As such, many of their stable magic items are traded and sold.

Religious Allegations

While not directly affiliated with any religions, many supporters of the Weaver's Guild follow the spider goddess, Malmi. As such, some of their research has been seen as biased or manufactured.
