Dranya
Located in the mountainous eastern region of Vraelia, Dranya is the homeland of the dragon-like Drakai. In the past, the mountains, valleys, and canyons that dot the landscape of this land once served as home to many Dragons, and still continues to do so for some of those who remain after the fall. This has made Dranya a place of great cultural significance to the Drakai, and they would do everything in their power to honour and defend these lands.
Culture
The people of Dranya venerate the Dragons that once ruled over Taeva, and seek to honour them through their actions and deeds. As a result, the Drakai have a strong code of honour that they're loathe to stray from, and hold themselves to a high standard in what they can accomplish. Regardless of their place in society, all Drakai are also expected to lead a life of discipline, with many outsiders generally describing them as being very formal in their interactions.
Assets
Due to its mountainous terrain, Dranya has many places that are easily fortified, as well as an abundance of areas ripe for mining.
Demography and Population
The population of Dranya consists almost exclusively of Drakai, with only a few settlements near the border having other races in their populations.
Territories
The nation of Dranya covers all of eastern Vraelia, which they claim was the home of a number of renowned Dragons.
Military
The nation of Dranya has a standard army, with light and heavy infantry, cavalry, and missile units. Additionally, the Dranyan military makes use of large gunpowder cannons, and have the strongest artillery in Vraelia. All soldiers are a part of the warrior class, though Drakai from other classes are drafted into the military during particularly large-scale conflicts.
Technological Level
The nation of Dranya makes limited use of Magitech, largely limiting it to transportation in especially difficult terrain and navigation.
Foreign Relations
Due to the events of the Dragonscourge, many of the nations of Taeva have a neutral but wary view of Dranya.
Agriculture & Industry
Agriculture is largely done in the plains and valleys around the base of the mountains, as well as a few specially made plateaus in other settlements. Due to their mountainous location, the nation of Dranya has a large number of mines, mining everything from stone to ore to iron. The most interesting of Dranya's industries, however, is their Wyvern domestication, which produces Wyverns for use in both military and civilian roles.
Trade & Transport
Trade with the lands beyond Dranya is overseen by the clans who've settled near the border. All of Dranyas settlements are connected via well maintained stone roads, which are designed to handle heavy traffic and flow with the rocky terrain. Items or people that need to get somewhere quickly are often transported by Wyverns, though they have a limit to how much they can carry at once.
Education
All Drakai are educated in communal schools, local to their place of residence. Education starts at the age of 4 and ends at the age of 19, and covers the history of Dranya and the Drakai, the legends surrounding the dragons and the Drakai peoples place in them, and the histories and accomplishments of their ancestors. Additionally, Drakai students are taught skills related to the trades commonly associated with their class, including apprenticeships to provide on-site training.
