Aman'nur

Located in a large valley within the Dragonspire Mountains, Aman'nur stands as the capital of Dranya. Said to have been established on the site of the former lair of a powerful Dragon, and serving as the seat of power for the Emperor/Empress, Aman'nur holds considerable cultural significance to the Drakai people. It's here where the most important decisions of the Drakai people are made, and where their most important ceremonies take place.

Demographics

The population of Aman'nur is almost exclusively made up of Drakai, with the only outsiders seen within the city being dignitaries and rulers come to discuss important matters with the Drakai. Due to being a large gathering place for the Drakai, Drakai of many occupations can be found here, particularly merchants, scholars, and diplomats, as well as any Drakai who've travelled extensively as part of their occupation.

Government

Aman'nur is directly ruled by the Emperor/Empress. All taxes gathered within the city are put towards maintaining its buildings and infrastructure, with the excess being stored in the treasury.

Defences

The city is surrounded by tall walls, which are patrolled during times of conflict. Additionally, due to being located in a valley deep in the mountains, an invading army would have difficulty reaching the city on foot, giving the defenders ample time to prepare. In the event that the outer defences are breached, the defenders will use the streets to funnel the invaders into disadvantageous positions, and will use the Inner City as a fall-back position, and a last line of defence.

Industry & Trade

Aman'nur does extensive trade with the other cities of Dranya, exchanging a wide variety of goods and services.

Infrastructure

Aman'nur has a well-maintained network of stone roads connecting it to the various cities of Dranya, as well as a large plaza outside the gates of the Inner City for large gatherings. Additionally, there are numerous libraries, learning halls, shops, and a variety of crafting facilities.

Assets

Aman'nur has several supply routes connecting it to several of the major settlements of Dranya, as well as a large marketplace, mines in the nearby mountains, and housing for visitors from outside the city, particularly nobility.

Points of interest

The Inner City: Located within the heart of Aman'nur, the Inner City is the seat of power for the Dranyan monarchy. As well as containing the Palace of the Dragons, the Inner City also serves as the home of the nobility within Aman'nur.

The Great Plaza: Located outside the gates of the Inner City, the Great Plaza is the largest gathering place within the Aman'nur. It is here where many important ceremonies within the city are held.
