Dranyan Legions
As the military element of the nation of Dranya, the Legions serve as the symbol of Dranyas power. With soldiers hailing from nearly every walk of life in Dranyan society, an intensive training regime to hone their skills, and the best equipment at their disposal, the Legions are one of the most powerful land armies on the continent of Vraelia. Whether it's in times of peace or war, the Legions are always looking for new recruits to add to their ranks, ensuring that they're always ready for conflict.
Structure
The Dranyan Legions operate on a strict hierarchy, with soldiers divided into ranks based on experience, as well as their roles in the legion.
Infantry: The backbone of the Legions forces, these soldiers fall under light, medium, heavy, scout, and missile infantry.
Cavalry: Soldiers who specialise in fighting atop mounts, mainly land-based, though the more experienced among them are known to ride Wyverns into battle.
Cannoneer: Soldiers who specialise in using the cannons that provide artillery support for the legion. Often work in teamsof four or five.
Warmage: Soldiers who focus on using magic in battle, either directly attacking the enemy, or defending/bolstering their allies.
Auxilary: Soldiers who fill various non-combat roles, such as medics and quartermasters.
Lieutenant: Rank held by the leader of a formation of around 70-100 soldiers.
Captain: Rank held by the leader of a formation of around 1,000 soldiers.
Commander: Rank held by the leader of a formation of 5,000 soldiers.
General: Rank held by the leader of a legion. The highest rank one can achieve in their respective legion.
Primus: Rank held by the General of the 1st legion, and supreme leader of the Dranyan military.
Beyond these ranks, the Dranyan army is broken up into multiple legions, with some having developed their own unique "character". The most notable such legions are:
The Dragon Legion: Name given to the the 1st legion. As the first of the legions to have been established, the Dragon Legion holds immense prestige among the Dranyan military, consisting of only their most elite soldiers, and serving as the personal army of the reigning Emperor/Empress.
The Talon Legion: A legion specialising in unrelenting offence, producing the best shock infantry in the Dranyan military.
The Scale Legion: A legion specialising in defensive tactics, making them ideal for holding ground.

Culture
Like the rest of the nation of Dranya, the Legions greatly valued discipline among their soldiers, with a strong focus on obedience, constant honing of ones skills, and bravery in the face of danger. Additionally, the soldiers of the Legions hold themselves to a strict code of honour, with honourable/dishonourable actions being major factors in determining advancement through the ranks.
Public Agenda
The Legions were formed in order to protect Dranya from outside threats, and later to expand their borders. On the whole, the Legions are largely used as a symbol of Dranyas power.
Assets
The Legions have access to various crafting materials (such as wood and metal) for forging and repairing their gear, and are equipped with high-quality weapons and armour. Additionally, they receive funding directly from the empires treasury, and have quartermasters among their ranks that ensure that the soldiers serving in the Legions receive the food and supplies they need.
