Setsymar
Covering much of the Khassis Desert, the desert kingdom of Setsymar is the home of the serpentine Sythssya. Having existed since the time of the old Mage Empires, Setsymar is one of the oldest kingdoms in Taeva, and may have been the first civilisation to be formed on the continent of Vraelia. While its borders have shrunken in the centuries since it's apex, Setsymar remains one of the most powerful and influential nations in Vraelia, and its influence continues to be felt throughout Taeva well into the present day.
Culture
The people of Setsymar value knowledge, particularly any related to astronomy, magic, and medicine, and are willing to integrate the knowledge of others into their own. Beyond this, the people of Setsymar are also renowned for their architectural skill, as well as the strength of their armies, traits that played a significant role in ancient Setsymars dominance over its homeland. While their kingdom may no longer be the mighty empire it was in the past, the people of Setsymar remain proud of their heritage, and actively strive to recapture some of their ancient empires former glory in all that they do.
Assets
Setsymar has plentiful access to stone for use in construction, as well as access to the Great River for use in agriculture and transportation, including access to the Expanse. Additionally, due to sharing a border with the nations of Helarion, Zemar, and Dranya, Setsymar has access to a large number of trading opportunities, which greatly contribute to its wealth.

Agriculture & Industry
Setsymars agriculture is based along the Great River, as well as around oases and the grasslands along the borders. Additionally, Setsymar does fishing and trading along the Great River, as well as around the river mouth, and stone and metals are are mined from the mountains and canyons.
Trade & Transport
Trade between Setsymar and the surrounding nations is largely done through the border settlements and along the Great River. There's also a network of well-worn roads connecting the settlements, as well as naval travel to settlements built along the shores of the Great River.
Education
All Sythssya are educated in local schools, with those in the larger settlements being larger than those of smaller settlements. Education begins around 5 and ends around 17, and covers a variety of subjects, including the history of Setsymar and the Sythssya people, literature, and the sciences. While early and general education is done in a class setting, later and more specialised education is done through apprenticeships, with students studying under more experienced masters in their field.
