Hannis Drelev
A well-known swordsman and the founder and ruler of Drelev until his death. He is survived by his widow, Pavetta Stroon-Drelev. He was born and raised in Brevoy with his younger sister Medrina, where the rest of his family still lives.
A commoner by birth, Hannis Drelev grew up to be a merchant where he made a fortune in textiles and banking (particularly loans and brokering). Obsessed with status, he married Pavetta Stroon-Drelev, a young Surtovan, shortly after her house came into power. This fed his ego, making him so classist that he looked down on even other appointed nobility such as Maegar Varn and Kiin.
Seeking to remove him from the brewing Brevoy Civil War, Jamandi Aldori tasked Hannis and Pavetta to conquer the Glenebon Uplands. They did so with the assistance of barbarians and mercenaries and were appointed the Baron and Baronness of the region. Due to the challenging nature of his lands, Hannis was unable to grow his power any further.
Hannis was friendly with Castruccio Irovetti, the leader of Pitax, and tried to impress him so the nation of Drelev could become a vassal. He severed his trade agreements with The Land of the Silver Star to appease Irovetti, and later launched an ill-fated attack on Vermetelheid.
At some point, Hannis allowed Quintessa Maray to live in Fort Drelev as his mistress.
Between his politics towards Pitax and his apathy towards his citizens, Hannis became unpopular. His oppressive tendencies against unhappy citizens made him so disliked that they enlisted the help of the Silver Star leadership. Displeased with his connections to Pitax and attack on their borders, they infiltrated his city and swiftly dismantled his corrupt guards before killing Quintessa and Hannis.
