Sargon Xan Daran, "the merciless", is rumored to be a Force sensitive human male from the Unknown Regions of the galaxy. This bloody conqueror has been a dire threat since before the fall of Emperor Palpatine. Rumor suggests he's conquered dozens of systems along the fringe of the Unknown Regions. He exterminated those worlds that refused to submit, scouring away all life, leaving behind a planetwide wasteland.
If we had only known about him, who he really was, so many lives could have been saved...
During the reign of Emperor Palpatine, stories circulated of a brilliant tactician that had countered the might of the Galactic Empire in the Outer Rim. Imperial losses had been so great that Emperor Palpatine himself traveled to the world of Byss in the Outer Rim to confront this person. Palpatine, also known as Sith Lord Darth Sidious, cornered Xan Daran.
They talked, then fought. Darth Sidious tried to murder Xan Daran, and Sargon Xan replied in kind. The battle lasted four days. In the end, they called a truce.
The pair agreed on a tentative peace through war. Using the border worlds of the Unknown and known regions of the galaxy, they began a deadly game. Experimental weapons, troops, and technology were deployed. Neither worked to overcome the other one, but to best each other in a bloody game of holochess that spanned systems.
I've been to a few of those worlds. What they did? The atmosphere is still on fire years later...
Their arragement was that Xan would not leave the Unexplored Regions or Wild Space. In return, the Galactic Empire would not cross into Sargon Xan's territories. That peace held until Palpatine sent the Crimson Knights to steal one of Xan's experiments. A clone of a mysterious legendary Jedi Master.
It broke their arrangement. Emperor Palpatine was overthrown before Xan could pay the Sith Lord back in kind. This also left the galaxy at the mercy of a madman, lurking in the shadows of the galaxy.
A Force To Be Reckoned With
Rumors, even legends, surround the armored figure of Xan Daran. A mysterious man, stories suggest he possesses some skill at the Force. But the man rarely speaks of the Jedi, Sith, or other Force orders. When he does, it’s the Bene Gesserit Order and the thousand ways he would destroy them. Why he has such hate for this one Force order is a mystery.
I’ve heard what anyone else knows. Rumors. If even half of those are true, he doesn’t follow any of the known philosophies of the Sith, Jedi, Crimson Knights, or others. Instead, he’s following an older, darker tradition.
Those few that have met him in person describe a deep voice and an even deeper conviction in his beliefs. A driven man, he’s obsessed with order and peace through conquest. Cleansing the galaxy of undesired and disruptive elements. The single wrinkle in his calm demeanor is the Bene Gesserit Order. On a list of ‘undesired elements’ in the galaxy, Xan appears to view the Bene Gesserits as a disease to be cut out and removed by any means necessary. Them, their philosophy, and any of its devout followers.
I've felt the burning sting of the Bene Gesserit 'pain box'. They tested me and found me 'lacking'. That pain showed me my vision of the future. It was also the day I taught those Bene Gesserits the true meaning of 'pain'. It was a good lesson.
