Ocarro

Ocarro is a planet covered in arid and semi-arid biomes. The people and culture from Ocarro are called Ocarrans, which make up the majority of the planet's population. The planet has a republic government where the people vote representatives into political offices.

Ocarro is a member planet of the Galactic Coalition.

It is believed that Ocarro was colonized by humans, presumably from Athea, and that the people lost communication with their home planet and subsequently developed their own culture and beliefs eventually forgetting their original history.

Star System

Ocarro is located in a single-star system with three planets, one of which is Ocarro the only habitable planet in the system. Ocarro has no moon, making the planet hardly tilt and have little change in seasons.

Ecosystem & Geography

The population is mostly located in the mid-latitudes where the planet is most hospitable. The planet has no large standing bodies of water, with most water sources being small streams fed by precipitation, lakes where river water collects, or underground aquifers which are another source of water.

The majority of the planet is covered in arid or semi-arid deserts as well as steppes, prairies, and desert meadows. Lots of the most hospitable areas are also alpine or plateau regions with a higher altitude which allows for more moisture to accumulate. Most of these areas have cold dry winters and mild sunny summers. The majority of regions are hot during the day and cold at night when the sun goes down.

Cantaro Valley Territory

The Cantaro Valley Territory is a region located in a valley near a mountain range that includes the planet’s Capital city, Cantaro, and surrounding towns and areas. The region is covered in scrubland and rocky grasslands.

The territory, due to its location in a valley, gathers water somewhat easier than others due to rain in the mountains making its way down into the valley whether that is through underground waterways or through small streams. The region has developed a strong water storage and recycling system which provides the area with water.

Population

The majority of the population lives in small towns, mostly agricultural towns that grow food or raise livestock. There are a few large urban areas, most notably Cantaro City, which is the biggest city on the planet and the capital of the planetary government. Those that live in urban areas are less focused on farming and have more infrastructure for people to pursue things outside of farming.

Infrastructure

The planet's infrastructure is not as good as many other planets due to its harsh climate and lack of nearby trade routes. It takes a few days to travel across the planet unless someone has their own vehicle that can travel faster than that, and most of the cross-planet transportation is made up of small shuttles and Ground Transportation.
