Ground transportation is the way that people get around once they are on the surface of a planet. There are two main types: Hover Transportation and Tire Transportation.
Hover Transportation
Uses hover technology to make it float and fly along the ground and is generally much smoother and more easily utilized than tire transports.
Hovercars
Hovercars are small enclosed vehicles that can hover and fly that normally hold around five to ten people. They are very common in most worlds, especially on more established planets, however, they can be a bit bulky and expensive to maintain when compared to smaller vehicles, like Hoverbikes, or public transport. They are also only really feasible for one to own if the person has the space to store the hovercar when not in use, something not feasible in many super-urbanized regions.
Hoverbikes
Hoverbikes are small unenclosed vehicles that can hover and fly and can normally only hold one or two people. They are very common on almost every planet, even if they are seen as being a bit reckless and dangerous. They are most common on less established planets where the streets are too narrow and the terrain too rough for a hovercar to get through with ease as hoverbikes are much smaller and more agile.
Hovertrains
Hovertrains are used to transport cargo and people across short or long distances; they are a common form of public transport. They are common on the core worlds and are used somewhat on the less wealthy worlds, mainly being used long-distance for cargo and passengers. The trains may have a difference in time efficiency based on the technology used with more expensive tech being able to go much faster, for example on wealthier more established worlds, like
Athea, can travel across the planet in a matter of minutes, meanwhile trains on lest established worlds, like
Ocarro, may take a few hours while still being just as reliable.
Tire Transports
Tire transports are older outdated-style vehicles that use tires or treads to travel across the ground. Are seen as being very polluting, unreliable, and unfashionable by those on the core worlds and are common in places like Occaro where there isn’t a lot of wealth. The military also uses them, mostly on rough terrain where hover technology wouldn't work well.
Tanks
Tanks are large all-terrain wheeled vehicles used mostly by the military and other weaponized organizations to traverse rough terrain as well as for ground attacks. They are only used when the hover technology equivalent would not work easily, such as in rough rocky terrain that a tank could just bulldoze over.
Cars
Cars are an older antiquated form of transportation that has mostly fallen out of fashion. They may still be used by the common population for personal transport and for transporting cargo. They are still a rare find due to the fact that there isn’t much infrastructure in a way that allows them to travel a long way and are way less popular than hovercars due to them being seen as gas guzzlers.
Monowheel Bikes
Monowheel bikes, normally just called Monowheels, are motorized bikes with only one large wheel that wraps all around the bike with the seat and control being in the middle. They are the most popular form of tire transport since they are fast and agile and are used for bike races as well as by general daredevils.
