Athea

Athea is a once nature-filled, ecumenopolis planet, meaning the whole planet is one giant city, made of metal and glass. The planet is also the capital of the Galactic Coalition.
Althea is believed to be the origin and home planet of the Human species.

Star System

Athea is located in a single-star system with four orbiting planets. The planet itself has three moons and many many artificial satellites and space stations in its orbit.

Ecosystem & Geography

Althea is habitable and a population center for the galaxy as a whole. It has oceans and many other water sources, but these have been mostly drained and put into a recycled water system that provides the planet with water.
Athea was once covered in numerous different natural biomes, but over many centuries of terraforming and building done on the planet, there are little to no green spaces left. Any green spaces that are left are normally man-made and carefully maintained.

Regions & Neighborhods

Athea has many different regions and sectors that make up its populated areas.

Upper Levels

The upper levels are the upper levels of the city, covered with walkways and terraformed land with lots of open sky and natural light.

Upper Nid

The Upper Nid is a high-class residential district in the upper levels that also has some high-end shopping centers and restaurants. It is filled with tall skyscrapers with lots of decorative architectural features and many small parks and plazas.

The Federal District

The Federal District is the district where all of the government buildings and offices are located; it is located in the upper levels. The buildings here are some of the most historically significant places on the planet, with many of the government buildings also being very beautiful works of architectural art.

The Lower Districts

The Lower Districts are the lower levels of the city that are located under the finely terraformed surface of the upper levels, making it quite dark and dank. It is a very poor district and is riddled with crime and corrupt officials.

Jesem Town

Jesem Town is an industrial district in the lower districts. There is also some middle and lower-class housing and stores, but most of the district is dedicated to factories and the like.

Population

The planet is heavily populated, with a large diversity of people. The majority of the planet is humans, still a good chunk of the population is made of non-humans whether they have lived on Athea for generations or have recently emigrated to the planet.

Infrastructure

Its transportation system is one of the best in the galaxy, allowing people to take a train from one side of the planet to the other in a short period of time.
As stated earlier the planet has a very advanced water recycling system that allows water to be recycled and purified for use over and over again.
