Argon Entertainment Organization in Soulbank | World Anvil

Argon Entertainment

Previously based in Argon Server, Argon Entertainment is a production company that specializes in violence and intense gamified activities for their productions. Since Users are immortal, this is generally seen as good, clean fun, but less so for self-aware Process and Daemons who wind up in their games.

Notable members:

  • Janice, a pheonix who has served as Argon's CEO since its inception. She has survived multiple deresolutions with no sign of slowing down.
  • Muse, a gecko woman who oversees management of fights. Cunning and pragmatic, she has developed several tactics for predicting and corraling conflict into the arena.
  • Roc, the golden gryphon celebrity breaker. Frequently speaks of the honor of the battlefield, but has had his celebrity status bolstered by rigged matches.

Public Agenda

Argon Entertainment is very straightforward about their intentions. They see the drama in violence and want to provide it for their audience. They are completely amoral and live for the thrill of producing riveting battles without regard for the consequences.

Assets

Argon entertainment maintains an arsenal of weapons and equipment to be used in the arena by those who end up in the games. While most is standardized, they have a few artifacts that keep things interesting when used. They also maintain a vast store of accumulated wealth as a Memory Purveyor, a portion of which may go to the winners of a competition.

History

Argon Entertainment originally formed in Argon Server and gradually transformed the city into a giant arena and directed the public with prizes for playing along with the gamification. As their influence increased, they were eventually offered a place in Helium Server, where they have begun spreading their games to all corners of Soulbank.

Clean, Rough Fun

Crew Type: Council

Starting Tier: 4

Tier Variation:

Tier 1: Small entertainment company with an arena for their shows. A few minor celebrity Breakers, standard grade weaponry.

Tier 3: Violence in their district is made into a game with special rules imposed by Argon staff. Custom weapons, celebrity fighters with unique gimmicks. Sponsorship deals offered to smaller crews. Arenas ready to be deployed at the site of any conflict.

Tier 5: Ritualized bloodsport for the masses. Citizens show great concern over fighting by the rules, rather than resolving conflicts through other means. "Unsanctioned" violence is difficult to pull off.
