Nozima

Nozima, also known as Night City, is city located in Banpour, in an area of perpetual midnight generated by The Queen of the Night. The town is built on the southern edges of The Spotted Oasis, making it a popular stop for wealthy travelers along the Highroad both on the way out of and into The City of Banpour or Putee Hill. In contrast to the harsh desert that makes up most of Banpour, Nozima enjoys relatively cool and humid weather, and hosts an ecosystem not entirely different from what is found deep underground in Dwarf cultures. Many rare mushrooms and strange magical materials are abundant in Nozima, along with creatures of the night and nocturnal sapient species that visit or live there conditionally.

History

Nozima started as a trading post between The Spotted Oasis and The Highroad, due to the natural rest its darkness gives to people traveling in the Tizac Desert. It is one of the few major settlements in Banpour that was not constructed explicitly by The Crown or The Church of the Divine Monarchy, but was incorporated later by their blessing once it had already been established. Nozima has a reputation for being plagued by crime and monsters, being the death site of Banpour the Hero it is also considered to be cursed by many devotees of the house of the sun. It is also notorious for its innovations in the fields of gambling, hotels, and prostitution, considered to be the birthplace of all three.
