Kulak IV

Kulak IV, or simply referred to as Kulak, is the fourth planet in the Kulak System and has always been the capital planet of the system, where the true power seat lies, regardless of whether the system was in Ork hands or Imperial ones.
A stable, temperate world, Imperial cartographers never knew quite how to designate it in terms of galactic cartography and tithe grade. It has the right soil composition and temperature to be used to grow foodstuffs as an agri-wrold, or it could be plundered and heavily populated slowly moving from a mining world to a hive world. Instead, as any good adept would do, they turned to the Emperor's Tarot and the portents indicated it will be classified as a civilised world.
The system itself lies on the outer rim of the Sleipner Sector , so when Waaagh! Grimskul raged through the sector, Kulak IV and the Kulak system were one of the last to fall and, therefore the last to be ravaged by the greenskin race, who saw its potential for resources to plunder, but also one of the weakest held
Identified early on in the planning of the Von Aurach Crusade , Kulak was chosen to be the landing stage and forward base for the 5122nd Imperial Army and now infamous battle for Beachhead 42 was one of the first offensives launched by the Imperium. With the Greenskins eventually scoured from the face of the planet, Beachhead 42 slowly grew from a forward logistics camp, to a fully fledged fortified city, knows as Fort Forward and is now the de facto capital of the planet and system and headquarters for the 5122nd.
As word of the Von Aurach Crusade reached the Lord Warden's ears on Baal, the planet has since been reclassified as a Hub-Fortress
