Great Forest of Arborea

The Great Arborea Forest is an immense forested area spanning thousands of square miles in west-central Valenor. It is a very fertile territory and rich in natural resources, which make it a strategic area for the economy of the kingdoms located within it.

Inside the forest there are numerous species of plants and animals, some of which are unique and rare. There are also human settlements, Kerak, Ugruk, and Soslith but it is mainly inhabited by elves (Arborean and Sindran) and other races who have found refuge in the forest. Additionally, the forest has been the site of many battles and wars throughout history, and many sites of historical and cultural significance are found within it.

The mountain range in the center of the forest, called the "Mountains of the Stars", is a sacred place for many of the forest-dwelling races. Access to the mountains is limited, and only a few elves have ever dared to explore them fully. It is said that there are ancient temples and monuments buried under the snow, and some magical treasures and artifacts have been hidden there since ancient times.

Exploration of the Star Mountains is limited as it may reveal ancient secrets that could be used against the kingdom; for this reason the Council of Archmages grants access to very few explorers of proven trust.

The Great Forest of Arborea is also an important defense for the kingdom, protecting it from external threats, in fact not only is a large part of the forest impervious and difficult to cross, but also because the elf communities (and others) who live there fiercely defend the their territories. However, this same strategic location makes it vulnerable to invasions from the Phan empire who often landed and operated unmolested for months or years before anyone noticed them.
