Torches in the Twilight 24 Bat Hunt Concludes

General Summary

Kormatin, Ragani, Bendek Deorac, Brigid, Sir Gerwin, Preylot, Aleesia, and six nameless archers continued their bat hunt led by the keen eye and forest lore of Noggra the Tengku.   They found another cloud of seven camazotz and took them down without taking a hit. Then they tracked down and killed their human handlers catching them by surprise.   They hid the bodies of the camazotz and made a quick sabotage to make the humans look like they might have been killed by camazotz.   Then Kormatin's company found evidence of a larger number of camazotz. Rather than fighting them, Kormatin used Divination to speak Zocatec fluently and called out their leader. Kormatin advised they leave and dramatically dumped out fourteen camazotz heads to drive home his point. And rolled five successes on his intimdiation roll.   The leader demanded he give her some money to save face so Kormatin gave her the 400 gold (retconned to 400 silver) he looted from the Uskalan handlers.   They made it safely back to Fumaya with all the people they came with, plus some forest trained horses.   They left the archers in Toe. Aleesia went back to the Village of Satyrs more than a little rattled from the execution of POWs. Ragani and Brigid failed their rolls to comfort her and Kormatin got a mere one success.   Then Kormatin returned to King's Lake with Preylot and his core sidekicks.   King Henryk was pleased and told Kormatin that (assuming they survive the war), Henryk wanted Kormatin to help set a permanent presence of Order of the Torch in Fumaya.   Kormatin got a letter from Howell par Gruffyl informing him that the matriarch of Gorisonad demanded an audience with Rohdri ap Gruffyl in order to yell at him.   Kormatin tried to track down the bounty hunters that made a feeble attack on him last session and wrote them off as getting away.   Session ends.
