Kaminbandian
Kaminbandians were refugees of the Great Slave Rebellion of Stonelords' Throne, who followed their leader Kaminbanda (see: Holders of the Skyswords) to the lands between the Yeirinos and Yanawána rivers, where they founded the first kingdom of free men in Farensal.
Kaminbandans were the enemies of Tašalians, who blamed them for the murder of the father of Dašar, their king. Harsh wars were fought between them during the early years.
As writing was not yet invented during this period, it is unknown to what degree the mythical descriptions are influenced by the lived experience of the storytellers of the later periods with more settled lifestyle.
Connections
The lands were inhabited earlier by nomadic Lowlanders, who were largely displaced deeper into the forests by the newcommers, though partially assimilated, either through marriage or enslavement.Kaminbandans were the enemies of Tašalians, who blamed them for the murder of the father of Dašar, their king. Material culture
The myth of the Giant and the Rainbow Snake describes a typical early plains dwelling as a small village consisting of permanent houses, communal buildings and permanent architecture such as a village well. The practised livelihoods seem to have included farming, raising goats, hunting, and crafts such as metalworking. This contrasts with earlier Lowlander nomadic lifestyle and non-permanent dwellings with minimal architecture. Kaminbandians seem to have inherited their more settled lifestyle from their former lords, the Stone Giants, that are known to have built giant stone fortresses in the mountains. As writing was not yet invented during this period, it is unknown to what degree the mythical descriptions are influenced by the lived experience of the storytellers of the later periods with more settled lifestyle.
