Sableport

Sableport is built upon rocky shores just near the ocean along the base of sandstone cliffs. The land surrounding the town is made up of rocky hills covered in grass and shrubbery. While the overall region is warm, Sableport's climate is more mild due to the ocean winds. At the center of town are its large sandstone harbors, almost constantly filled with the movement of ships. Surrounding the ports are markets and large sandstone buildings, including temples, while further out there are more small workplaces and housing.
As the name suggests, Sableport is best known for its ports. It serves as a key stopping point for vessels traveling along the coast and between the southern continents, and it's the base of trade with Secambre's surrounding settlements. Thus, it has plenty of inns, taverns, storage depots, and market places. Sableport also has commerce in fishing the surrounding seas and mining building material from a nearby quarry.
This town began several centuries ago as a small harbor built to ship in goods to the southern cities of Claimgaoth Coast. From there, the harbors expanded to acommodate more trade and the town gained more permanent residents. Sableport is also nearby to the ruins of the very first human settlements on Alcao, and thus the Krysinos language is still commonly spoken there.
