Nimlothin
Located in the north of the region, surrounded by a cool temperate forest with rocky terrain. This city was once one of the greatest in the Caithilian Empire, a center of trade, magic development, and architecture, before the Collapse. It has since been rebuilt by several different communities, featuring both human and dwarven design in its clay houses, brick canal ports and large tilled fields, as well as ancient elven architecture and elven government. The Lossba Canal allows for moving the city’s goods (primarily grains, herbs, and wax) south to other settlements in Cangendiath.
The Iarpeiros Family
After its initial destruction in the Collapse, Nimlothin was reclaimed by this elven noble family. They tried to restore the city’s former glory, but ran out of money to rebuild its architecture and couldn’t get support from their new citizens. Nimlothin is now ruled by the young Sedreyl Iarpeiros, who recently inherited it at his parents' passing and is struggling with his role.Lost Architecture
Most of Nimlothin’s grand architecture didn’t survive the Collapse or its aftermath. Pockets of old brick rubble can be found just under the ground across the city and in overgrown piles outside its walls. Certainly the biggest structure was the Old Palace which has been replaced by the smaller Mairolodren Castle. Some careful digging could unearth valuable engravings showing glimpses of history in the ancient empires. The Ithilduin Cathedral
The Ithilduin Cathedral is the oldest structure in Nimlothin, persisting through many events perhaps because of its cultural importance. The cathedral has many places for giving offerings to the river, the skies, and the moon. It was built before Reflection magic was employed, and used as a place to study moonlight’s effects and properties.Goodtree Tavern
Found right by the Lossba River, this is the favorite place of canal workers to relax after the day’s work. This makes it a great place to hear about happenings in the city and across the region, as well as gain some favor in getting a variety of trade goods.
