Surcount of Rydant

The Surcount of Rydant is a hereditary title held by the nobility who rule over the south-eastern surcounty of Rydant in the Grand Duchy of Canyndor. The title has been in the line of the Kappeli Dynasty who themselves are historically the lords of the surcounty capital of Rydant. The title is well known as a signifier of status as its holders generally are privy to the great wealth in the region and that of the Kappelli family, though they are also seen somewhat as cultural leaders as the Tila Valley where the surcounty is located has long held a distinct cultural character that sometimes finds itself at odds with the rest of Doria.
