Marshal of Eidehn

The Marshal of Eidehn is a title conferred onto a person who will then be responsible for the leadership and management of the military within the Surcounty of Eidehn. This position is granted by the Surcount of Eidehn and the holder will often change whenever the Surcount changes or simply when the Surcount decides the current holder is not sufficient for the position. Though the Marshal is essentially subservient to the local Surcount, in times of war, the Grand Duke may requisition the Marshal and a proportion of his military for such a war, however, in Surcounty which are ruled by religious heralds, i.e. Bishops (as Eidehn is), the proportion of requisitioned troops may be lesser. In the case of Eidehn, the Marshal at present is stationed within Kopori, not Eidehn itself, unlike most other Surcounties where the Marshal resides in the Surcounty capital. Kopori is larger than Eidehn and thus allows for a greater garrison to be present as well as being located in a particularly strategic location for the protection of the Surcounty from the north, thus the marshal now resides in the northern town.
