Eidehn Stables

The Eidehn Stables is the principal stables of horses belonging to the Surcount of Eidehn, Bishop Aapo Yaromaki. The stable can not only lodge horses belonging to the Bishop but also that of his guests and the local garrison where necessary. The stable also accommodates horse breeding however this practice is often outsourced to more specialist professionals.   The stables in their original state, one which it largely remains in till current times, was established by a Brynic stablemaster, Andwyc, who relocated his business to southern Doria due to overcrowding issues within the Kingdom of Durabryn. The stable consists of a small hovel where the stablemaster and his family can live, a large field grounds suitable for grazing and training as well as the stable itself, a humble establishment that maintains a small tenancy of horses.   Andwyc, his family and the odd stablehand were responsible for the stables for many years, a private endeavour while Andwyc himself was the proprietor. However, Andwyc eventually passed away and the stables fell to his son, Gerhad. Gerhad was a strong young man, with a blossoming family of his own, however, his interests lay more in his commitments to the Doric military. When the Doric-Aijian war began, Gerhad left the stables in the charge of his stablehand, the son of a local taverner, while both he and his eldest son went to war. As happens in war, Gerhad's eldest son was slain in the Battle at Rebelly Row. Gerhad set out to find his son however was deemed a deserter in doing so. When he eventually returned to his home at the stables, he managed to escape charges of desertion by selling himself and his family into villeiny under the Bishop, thus keeping the stables in the process.   Though once the large hovel that gave shelter to the custodians of the stables had packed rooms with the extended family of Andwyc and his son, now it had been reduced to little more than Gerhad and his son Jori, who had since grown apart and even slept in separate rooms, an anomaly for those of little wealth or stature.
