Feely's Fletching Shop

The fletching shop first existed as an archery range to help train new soldiers and repair broken equipment for stations soldiers. After the encampment was converted to a city this archery range was morphed into a bower and fletching workshop. Feely is the current master-bower who works on repairing, stringing, and creating new bows, crossbows, and the occasional siege machines that the lords use.

Purpose / Function

The fletching workshop has always been where bows and other ranged weaponry could be restrung, repaired or created. Currently it is the center of repair and upkeep for the guards bows and crossbows, as well as the repair center where citizens who do not have the skill can pay for their hunting gear to be fixed. As anyone walks in, Feely greets them personally and asks what they need done.

Sensory & Appearance

As anyone enters they can hear the carving of wood, as well as several "twangs" as artisans test their new strings. The smell of freshly coated and finished wood wafts throughout the workshop, with several artisans sitting at their stations working.

Contents & Furnishings

There are several workstations with both sterling crafting kits. Each workstation contains a fletcher's kit, and a bowers kit. There are several other small knives, bowstrings, sinew, and unfinished bolts at each table.

Valuables

In the back of the room on racks there can be seen several weapons that are waiting to go out on orders. 10 regular shortbows, 5 longbows, 5 crossbows, and on Feely's desk there can be seen two hand crossbows. Under Feely's desk there is a safe containing 10 gold pieces, a gem that can be used to make up to a +3 potency rune, and ledgers that detail the orders that have been placed within the past month.

Hazards & Traps

Anyone who attempts to open the box under Feely's desk must succeed at a DC 15 perception check to notice that the lockbox has a spring-trap in it. A player can attempt a Disable a Device action using thievery with a DC of 25 to disable to lockbox trap.

Alterations

It had in the past doubled as an archery range, but this has since been dissolved.

Architecture

The building still has the multiple alcoves where archers would line up to shoot down range, but these have instead been retrofit into repair stations where bowers and fletchers create and repair equipment. At the very entrance is a clerks desk where Feely regularly is working on new designs for bows and crossbows.
