Deep beneath Imperial City rests a vast deposit of soulcite crystal, either designed or naturally formed to work as a magic enhancer. Rituals and spells that are channeled through it can become greatly empowered. It is unclear how widespread knowledge of this deposit is; it may be known only to the higher-ups in the government and those who can magically detect it. There are indications that it is the resting place of uncountable ancestor spirits, who can interfere with or aid those who try to make use of it.
