Chasm of the Lost

A vast and ancient chasm full of dangerous monsters and some valuable treasure. Apparently used as a means of imprisonment for very powerful monsters until adventurers come by to slay them for good. Prior to September 10, 23 ARL, the bottom of the chasm was the Rift, a soul-sucking hole in reality inside which resided the Rift Dweller, a primordial monster of godlike power that trapped, enslaved, and consumed whatever souls it could catch. It was slain and the Rift closed on the aforementioned date by the Shadows of Existence, though the Chasm of the Lost remained.
