One Billion Hands

(a.k.a. One Billion Hands)

Divine Domains

When it comes to the mortal realm, no other creature has the sheer scope of knowledge that anyone provides. Even the most intellectual of gods cannot see past their own domains, except for one billion hands. This is because, above all, the god is about the truth, the ultimate truth, and accepting nothing but the truth in all things. Their omnipotence, and their desire to have a full record of all things as part of the motivation of the gods prevents them from requiring any worshipers in the mortal realm.
Beyond this ultimatatum in truth, the god also has a direct impact and input on the written word, creativity and storytelling. Though there are many within his followers that disagree on which is more important, all of them agree that the written word, reccord keeping, and precise nature of written artistry is paramount to his nature, and neccessary for all mortals to understand their past, to better predict, and flow into their future.
Finally, unlike other divine, one billion hands finds its absolutely neccesarry to progress in technology, as the hands may sit idly by, they still are limited to the technology of their time in writing instruments. Because of this, they actively promote technological advances to any degree, especially for writing, so that they can more easilly, and quickly document the details of a mortals life.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

From the time of the first mortals arriving on Pondera, a hand has been devoted to their life, to chronicle their actions. For each mortal, a hand is created, and for each death a hand serves its purpose. Each hand takes over a chronicle of a mortals life, writing about it, so that a full transcript of a mortal is available to any god who requests it.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

On a surface level, the god of a billion hands is nothing more than a single hand, that may or may not be activly writing. However, when approached by someone requiring to speak, inactive hands, formed from those idle hands dedicated to those that sleep throughout the world, form into the eerie shape of a person, with eyes, a mouth, legs and feet, walking about. In some cases, even wearing a robe to more formal activities between the gods if they ever get invited. Many mortals find this unsettling, as it is the only physical form of the god.

Personal history

From the first moment hat mortals came into the prime material, so too did an etherial hand. Hell bent on the sole purpose of documenting the life of that mortal. They did not know why, nor did they know how, but with the large number of mortals that came to being at once, the hands all gathered in Prime Material Plane to Rahet's Mountain. This mountain was simply a neverending supply of rotting demon corpses, to which the hands started to peel off the skin, drain the blood, and use the bones to make sharp utencils to tattoo the skin of the fallen foes. After nearly a year, the neverending supply quite suddenly started to dwindle, and living creatures, animals and even the fallen Angels and dragons were turned to writing materials.
Taganum saw the issue when the hands started to tear apart living creatures, and set into motion the creation of great fields of grasses, and set up, with the help of Vivere, the plane of Vitium, where things grew so fast that they could provide a much higher number of resources for the hands to occupy. The hands were thrilled with this new venture, and set about with getting creatures to set up a place to write, so that the hands may continue monitering the mortals of the realm, now with more peaceful, and less disturbing elements.
As the first mortal had fallen, dying to an onslaught of Demons, the other divines were unsure of what to do with the soul, as it was in need of protection, but they were unsure of where it should go, or who should hold it. It was then that the mortals hand brought forth the collection of their life, which told of vallient efforts of fighting the demonic hoards. The gods looked upon this with favor, and gave this first mortal the wings of an angel, so even in death they may fight alongside Tutella, the one they worshiped most during their lifetime.
Once this was made known, The Morvit approached the hands and started to converse, asking them to work alongside them in their efforts to move the dead, so long as they promised to never again kill another creature for its hide within The Prime Material Plane. Given that the need for materials had finally been satisfied, the hands accepted this deal, and became the 4th god of death.

Personality Characteristics

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Omnipotence: One Billion Hands is the only truely omnipotent divine being. He sees all things, all creatures throughout creation, but only in The Prime Material Plane. Anything there, he either has the hand follow the person, or fills in the story of their chronicle when, and if they return.
Mortal Insight: To better assist with their jobs, one billion hands was inducted into The Morvit so that they know when a mortal has died, so that their specific hand may finish their task, and fade from existance. However, they cannot claim a person is dead if they are turned to stone, or have their soul completely trapped away from the afterlife. Nor can they enforce the killing of another creature in the prime material plane.
