Theriax

"There are many tools in the belt of an information extractor. While a heavy-handed approach can be effective, never underestimate the power of a softer touch. Theriax, for example, is not a tool to be overlooked. Certainly, the drug impacts memory, but a compliant subject is usually an informative subject."

    History

Theriax was originally developed during the uprising of The Primary Territories (1574 PT - 1611 PT). Peacekeeper Command were looking for a method for subduing dissidents, and the Majoran scientists were more than happy to test a wide range of solutions to this problem. Theriax, once created, was dissolved into the drinking water on multiple planets and in doing so was crucial in winning the war.   After this success, the Theriax was turned into pill form and could be prescribed or administered by any number of verified specialists.

Good work, with drugs one this I always wonder about (partly due to working for a few years in a pharmacy) are there any drug interactions or adverse reactions that have been noted? Not necessarily going the Serenity route, but maybe the lowered heartrate is used to evade detection, or maybe in a small percentage of the population instead of erasing memory it basically permanently writes the next few hours into a persons memory in photographic detail? Perhaps something to explore, but the article stands well on its own. Good job.
