Hollow Tree
"The sounds drift across the open waters surrounding the Holl, the light notes of children laughing and the rumble of old folk reminiscing all blending in with the chirps of the kislop and the rhythmic brush of the breeze through the glass shards hanging in the branches."
Architecture
The Hollow Tree, also known as the Holl, was an oversized Hometree - Fenfolium Abordormusia in The Roots area of Nuskan, the capital of P'Ache Micro. At its largest, it was 60ft tall and the trunk was approximately 40ft in diameter. In the branches of the tree, children hung broken bottles and small stones for games and decoration. The base was covered in the dried kired left over from Wash Stories and the smell of the Dream Sharing permeated the walls. Inside the hollow trunk, there were four floors above ground, plus a basement. Ladders ran between the floors allowing access from the basement all the way up into the branches.Purpose
The Holl was a gathering place for people. It was a community centre of sorts. Macrans from across Nuskan would use this as a safe space to meet, play games, share stories, laugh together, create together and most importantly to support each other. On any given day, many elements of Macran Culture 271 PT - 357 PT could be found happening in different rooms within the Holl.Branches
The top of the Holl was used mainly as a playground but was also a school of sorts, used by grown-ups to teach children about climbing and safety as well as more about the nature they relied upon.
Third Floor
The third floor was mostly given over to children and teenagers, with vague areas dedicated to different age groups.
Second Floor
This floor was made up of small gathering rooms which could be used for quieter activities and more comfortable meetings, cosy parties and places for youngsters to nap.
First Floor
This floor was used for arts and crafts, with several rooms dedicated to different traditional practices and stalls where people could sell their wares.
Ground Floor
The ground floor was a single open room with space for larger group activities and gatherings. Seating was placed around the outside for the comfort of those who required them.
The Basement
The basement was primarily used for storage, and in times of difficulty, it could be used by those who needed somewhere to sleep and included a cooking space.
Social Impact
The Holl was very much the centre of the community for the people living in and around the Roots, the Western Marshes and the Eastern Marshes. It was symbolically seen as the heart of these people. It was a place of joy and learning and sharing, and its destruction during The First Micro Rebellion was seen as a galvanising event which drew more Macrans to the rebels' cause.Related Articles

I was reading all the past tense and was like no :( I'm so sad that it's gone. It sounds like it was a lovely space.
