The Search of Power

After the fall of the God Devourer, a select group of gods wished to inform the mortal people of Othealia of the tragedy they had all forgotten. the Seabed Sorceress, who holds the domain of secrets led this idea alongside the newcomer, Roux who was quickly being ostracized for the mysteries of his origins that he refused to explain to the other gods. They believed that everyone should be able to know what occurred so they can learn and hopefully remember those lost. The other many of the other gods and most of the Nineteen however disagreed. They believed they should spare mortals of heartache, and some of the more strategically minded gods believed that we should not show mortals that the gods can be vulnerable and allow them the trust in security they find in worship. This idea while led by many of the Nineteen was led mostly by the Gilded Baron, as he also felt that with a lack of trust would come a lack of worship therefore weakening the gods' defenses and power in case another dangerous entity (like possibly Roux) were to come again.   The gods that then agreed with the Seabed Sorcereress and Roux joined their plans. The first to join was the Saged Feline, who believed that all knowledge should be shared no matter how painful or detrimental. The True Melody joined, believing the truth of song and that they were a beneficial tool to the cause they believed in. Lastly, the Rat King joined after being in a vulnerable state and being coerced by the Seabed Sorcereress.     While this group campaigned for the truth they wished to spread they were unsuccessful in convincing the other gods. They felt as though they needed to take action into their own hands. The Saged Feline began to overstep her bounds and inform her followers of the truth and to begin spreading it in the other temples of the most worshiped gods, like the Morning Lord and Mother Nature. In attempts to subdue the mortals the Nineteen named the rebel group the Gods of Falsehoods and told their worshipers to not believe the lies followers of the Saged Feline spread. After the attempt to undermine the Nineteen was subdued, the Seabed Sorcereress spread to more violent measures making the seas and any bodies of water dangerous and encroaching on the Deafening Spartan's and Mother Nature's domains. This caught their attention and in return, they ignored the voices of the Gods of Falsehoods that were still a part of the Nineteen. As a last-ditch effort Roux, the Seabed Sorcereress, and the Saged Feline attacked the Gilded Baron and killed him spilling his golden blood across his podium in the chambers of the, now, Eigteen, while the Rat King and True Melody distracted the other gods, so they could not come to his aid.   The Eighteen all agreed that these gods must be locked away for a few millennia. This rule was given one exception, however, the Rat King had been manipulated into joining these gods and this was recognized by Father Time, who only sentenced him to not play a hand in his worship for a couple hundred years. These gods still needed to be bound and the gods would only be able to play part of it as their mortal power needed to be bound in the mortal realm as well.   Father Time, Lady Death, and the Emporer of Sagacity all chose a singular hero to be their champion and to bind the Gods of Falsehoods. Gorea created the totems that would bind all of these gods so that they would pay for their crimes against the Eighteen. Gorea bounded these gods in a sacred ritual in which temples were built and the city of Gorea was created. During the ritual, he was tasked to give up his own life and choose immortality as a ghost. He was given the responsibility to care for these temples and cause Gorea to appear as a normal city but with hidden defenses in place to ward off those trying to free the Gods of Falsehoods.   Last Edited By: Onyx
