Gorea

In Gorea's life, he was a handsome figure. He had dark skin and black curly hair. He often sported a long but well-kept beard, especially as he aged and lost his hair. He had a stern face with rounded features. He would often wear formal clothes or a silver armor set, accented with lime green details. After his death, he was semi-translucent and glowed a shade of lime green similar to the armor he wore in life. He tended to only be seen in formal wear or mage attire often adorned with a pillbox-shaped hat.   Gorea is a very notable figure in Countillan and Othealia as a whole. He started as a young warrior devout in his worship of Father Time. He wouldn't be considered a cleric or paladin but a formidable warrior nonetheless. He adventured with a party that handled several minor threats. They are most known for stopping the threat of an adult green dragon on the capital of the now-dissolved Brulasion Empire. After this victory, he retired as an adventurer in his early 40s.     It was later in life that he was called upon directly by Father Time and the Towering Commander. He was given knowledge only a handful of the most devout mortals know. He was told of the actions and crimes of the Gods of Falsehoods. Gorea had always been curious but knew this moment was not the time to ask questions. He was asked to assist the Eighteen in imprisoning these traitorous gods.   He, alongside mages and clerics of the highest caliber, conjured a ritual so powerful that it could contain not one god but four. The ritual was not easy and required all of the participants to give not just their lives but their souls. Together they struggled and fought through this ritual for days. The strongest among them remained blood-covered, exhausted, and mentally destroyed. In the end, they were successful. They had bound the Gods of Falsehoods. They removed the True Melody's voice. They bound the Seabed Sorceress to the darkest depths, blinding her. They wrenched the innate chaos out of Roux, now only able to follow direct command. And lastly, the Saged Feline was cast in shadow and illusion.   As these gods were imprisoned their binds were held not only by the eye of the Eighteen but had a failsafe in their design. Four totems were held in temples locked away from anyone's grasp. The only remaining of the ritual participants was Gorea. He was impossibly close to an infinite demise. However, Father Time chose to reward Gorea for his resilience and loyalty to the divine.   He was named the first champion of the Council of Humility. In his honor, a city was constructed out of sandstone and pure arcane energy and placed in the center of the Stravallian Desert. It was named Gorea and would be led by its namesake. He looked and cared for his city, not as a king but as a guardian. This extended to the temples it hid as well.   Over the rest of his undeath, he would spend time in the Library of Gorea developing a talent for the arcane. He strengthed the city's protection magic. This did not stop those who wished to take the holy totems for themselves. Only two groups ever came close to taking the totems for themselves. A group led by Lawrence and a group by the name of Poyo and the Bollos.   It was through the adventure of Poyo and the Bollos that Gorea's soul was finally laid to rest. In a battle against Lawrence and his assembled crew Gorea's soul was forever lost. Yet his memory lives on through the city which now free from its defenses is bustling with all kinds of innovation, culture, and excitement. After his soul was lost a statue of him, honoring his sacrifice was created, and watches over the people of Gorea with an expression of pride.   Last Edited By: Onyx   Art created by Yasen Stoilov
