Sanctuary Cities

Underground cities inhabited by the Sanctified.

HISTORY

They were formed as mining settlements just after planetfall. For a time these underground cities housed most of the Hop Kru until the Utopian Dome Cities. The Sanctuaries were further depopulated after Hopefall began to fill with surface cities and towns.
For many years they were only populated by miners, Mechanos priests, and support staff. This changed when Reaper Imperium began to deploy Scour Airships and fear drove Hop Kru back underground. After the Mattersen Doctrine was implemented they began to be hubs where dissidents would plot against the perceived cruelty of Mathias and his Utopia Pacification Forces. This and the sealing of the Utopian Dome Cities further divided them. Now the Sanctuary cities are populated by Sanctified and supply Pariah. They live in fear of discovery by Utopi
