Remnant Isles

The Remnant Isles are a collection of islands off the southeastern coast of Orioth. The region known as the Remnant Isles is coterminous with the Nation known as the Remnant Isles. The region is made up of a large, cental island called Megalos, the somewhat smaller islan Mikros, and a series of a dozen other major islands, with dozens more minute islands among them. The population is largely made up of Humans, Satyrs, Argos and Koré. The nation of the Remnant Isles is a Magocracy, ruled by Archmagus Kastair Tellurien, the son of Archmagus Rowlen Tellurien, a former member of the Order of the Golden Rose who helped bring down the Pirate Queen Synafae. He rules from the city of Rasten, from the Nagothian Vortex, a fortress device of his father's creation that grants members of the Tellurien line incredible arcane power. The Remnant Isles are a member nation of the Golden League, although they do little to actively support the hegemonic interests of the league, a part of it in lettle more than name. Their major exports include olive oil, salt from large deposites on Mikros, as well as artificial evaporation ponds, and workable clay from clay fiends on Megalos. Common foods include flatbreads and tomatoes, and the most common drink is a sweet, spiced pomegranate wine referred to as Krasi.
